Pemberton Heights is one of, if not the most, prestigious Austin neighborhoods, and has received national recognition and press for the highly sought after real estate. In June of 1998, Town and Country magazine listed Pemberton Heights as one of its top “25 Platinum Addresses in the United States.” And after much hard work from volunteers and devoted neighborhood residents, The Old West Austin Historic District which includes the neighborhoods of Pemberton Heights, Brykerwoods, Old Enfield, and Old West Austin, was listed in the National Register of Historic Places, with over 1500 contributing properties which are recognized for their architectural and historical significance. Within Pemberton Heights, there are over 15 different examples of architecture which are recognized in the National Register of Historic Places. Only minutes from downtown Austin and the University of Texas, Pemberton Heights is convenient to all that central Austin has to offer. Because of Shoal Creek basin's irregular topography, many of the streets within Pemberton Heights which feed into Pease Park do not follow a basic rectilinear grid. This makes some of the borders of the neighborhood a little interesting. On its west side, Pemberton is bordered by MoPac, or Loop 1. Shoal Creek runs along its east side border. Windsor Rd. is the southern border and the northern border encompasses parts of 29th St, Northwood, Jefferson, and even parts of Westover. The Brykerwoods neighborhood lies just on the other side of Pemberton Height’s north border. UT’s West Campus is to the east of the Shoal Creek border, and Old Enfield is south of the Windsor border.
In Austin, owning a home in Pemberton Heights is the epitome of refined luxury living.
